Welcome on board to both Lucas Boyd and Nick Lynch for Season 2024!
Boydy, a former GFL Team of the Year member and prolific goal kicker joins us after recently booting 239 goals in the Geelong Football League and 72 goals (in 21 games) in the Warrnambool and District League.
We're also excited to announce South Colac premiership coach Nick Lynch as a playing assistant for next season.
Lynchy guided South Colac to premiership glory in 2022 after a 20 year hiatus for the Roos and has a glittering career spanning more than 200 games and in excess of 300 goals. His leadership both on-and-off the field will be invaluable for our 2024 ambitions.

The Thomson Football Netball Club is heading into season 2024 looking for innovative and energetic individuals to be involved in leading and supporting the netball program.
Our netball program is twenty-one seasons old and incorporates Junior and Senior Competition teams, as well as Junior Development Teams.
We are moving into an exciting phase of redesign and transformation to drive player engagement, development of performance and sustainable governance of the program.
If you are comfortable with change and innovation and can work collaboratively as part of ‘one club’ then we want to hear from you.

We are seeking interest across the following roles which will form part of the Leadership Group for each grade, and the Senior Leadership Group and Netball Committee:
1. Senior Coaches
2. Senior Assistant Coaches
3. Senior Team Managers

We are also looking for interest across the following roles which will provide support to the netball program, and the netball & club committees (**)
4. First Aid & Wellbeing Officers
5. Social Media Extraordinaires **

A life membership is Thomson Football and Netball Club’s highest honour. This award is given to a member for extraordinary and outstanding service to the club over an extended period of time

Last night, TFNC inducted two new life members. Both of these people have been around the club for several decades and have been integral members putting their hands up whenever help is needed, running out in the purple and gold playing in multiple premiership teams between them and always welcoming new members to the club with a warm spirit. These members fully embody what it means to be a Thomson Tiger and we could not be prouder to have them join the life member club.

A tough and exciting weekend for our 4 teams still in contention for finals positions the past Saturday and Sunday.

The exciting results is our B Grade netball girls, who beat Inverleigh by two goals to secure their grand final spot for the second year in a row!

Our senior men’s football just missed out in their ticket with a close game against Inverleigh. They will be back this Saturday for a second chance at securing their spot.

Unfortunately both our reserves football and A grade netballers were knocked out in their elimination finals on Sunday but a huge congratulations goes out to both teams on their stellar season and getting this far.

One more week of finals before the big dance! Keep an eye out for game times for this weekend and get down and cheer on Thomson if you can!

Big first weekend of finals for the club with 4/5 of our finals teams playing over Saturday and Sunday.

Our reserves went down to east Geelong but have a second chance this Sunday to stay in finals.

In the netball, B grade have cruised into the semi’s with a win over east Geelong and A Grade beat Corio in their elimination final to fight another week. Unfortunately our D Grade girls did not clench their elimination final win, but we are so proud of them and their season.

In their first Grand Final ever, our women’s football team went down by just one goal in extra time to Geelong West. Wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but playing in their first grand final in their first year of establishment at Thomson, is a win for the entire team that’s worth celebrating.

Finals week 2 is fast approaching - keep an eye out for our finals schedule in the coming days!

Today, Cheyenne Philpott will step on the court for her 150th game with Thomson! Starting in our junior netball program and progressing through her years to senior netball, Chey has grown from strength to strength into a talented player and is now one of our best shooters for the club. Hard to believe this girl has achieved this much and is only 19 years old!!

Our senior men’s football were very unlucky going down by one point in the dying minutes but boy, what a game to watch!

This past weekend was not just any ordinary round - on Saturday our club became tickled pink to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
